In very short supply and only just in front of the Naxos - Kenneth Branagh production "Richard III" is sequel to the three parts of "Henry VI" in which Shakespeare dramatised the Wars of the Roses. In writing the play, Shakespeare saw something behind the events of history, for "Richard III", though partly a straight dramatisation of history, is also a comment on it and an understanding of its significance.
