When Figaro is killed in an aeroplane crash it seems that nothing can save the production of Mozart's opera at the Leander Theatre in London. Then world-class baritone, Marc Chatrier, arrives from Europe and the cast breathes a sigh of relief.
But when he sets his cap at young Hero, the teenage daughter of the Leander's owner, feathers are ruffled. Somewhat taken aback by the unexpected attention, Hero is baffled by the signs of upset among the group, for there seems to be more than petty jealousy afoot.
Then Chatrier is killed mid-performance and it is clear that someone has a particularly vicious dislike of the man, but would anyone resort to murder?
