This digitally remaster practicaly creaks with age rather like the Hispianola's timbers in a force 6 gale but it's still a cracking version of the tale. Mercury theatre and all the actors are seasoned pros -including Orson Welles in the lead roles of Long John Silver with Jim as a boy and as Jim Hawkins as a man who relates the tale. The cast are magnificent and really convey the action well the pirates especially so.
At an hour it concentrates a whole long tale into a few minutes- not a minute is wasted and all the best bits are included along with the Black Spot.
